Playing in the water....finally a nice day!
It was such a beautiful day here today. Finally!! The kids decided to play in the water. Cooper was at Davis' house, so he missed out!

Our entertainment for the night...
Mark sings these songs to Sophie at night before she goes to bed. She knows all the words. Ava is just following Sophie's lead :)
5th grade graduation
How can it be that Drake is already graduating from 5th grade? Wasn't he just starting Kindergarten yesterday? Time flies, and now Drake is in his last few days at Young Elementary. He will be in Middle School next year. Makes me sad and happy all at the same time. We are so proud of the sweet and wonderful boy he is. Bye, bye BYE (Bernice Young Elementary), hello Hellstern Heroes!

After receiving certificates with all of the 5th grades, we went back to Mrs. Leake's classroom and listened to the kids read poems they had written. Drake had been dreading and worrying about this for weeks! He was so terribly nervous. But, his little sister Ava came to his rescue. While listening to the kids read before him, Ava decided to go sit in Drake's lap on the floor. When it came time for Drake to read, she screamed and did not want Drake to leave her. So, Mrs. Leake said that Ava could go stand up front with Drake. She followed him and stood right behind him. It was SO cute and Drake really ate it up. It took the pressure off DRake and everyone was laughing at Ava. So, he read his poem so fast that no one even realized he had read it. Ava was Drake's little lifesaver :)

Cooper and his buddies
Cooper and his buddies, Alex and Davis (all 7 years old). Cooper, Alex and Davis were in the same class for kindergarten and first grade. They have become such good friends. Cooper is so lucky to have made such great friendships so early in life.
