Halloween

After school, we hurriedly changed into Halloween costumes so that we could make it up to Mark's office on the square in Fayetteville to do some Trick-or-Treating. Cooper has been planning on being Boba Fett from Star Wars, but at the last minute tonight, he decided to find Drake's old Anakin costume and wear it and be Anakin Skywalker. He at least wore the Boba Fett costume to his preschool this morning for their Halloween party. Drake was Obe Wan from Star Wars. His favorite part of his costume was the hooded cape. Sophie was Tinkerbell. She loved wearing her costume and INSISTED we call her Tinkerbell all night. If anyone called her Sophie, she would quickly correct you with "I not Sophie, I TINKERBELL!". The kids loved walking the square and getting candy from the shops and offices.

The kids excited walk up to the Fayetteville Square, where tons of other Trick-or-Treaters are getting all kinds of treats.

Next, we went to Nana and Papa Halbert's house. Of course, they had all kinds of goodies for the kids. Including little toys. The kids loved it!!

Drake and Cooper got some "Cube World" toys. Which they loved and Sophie got a purse with playdough. What a nice nana!

From there were headed to Grandma and Grandpa Dossett's. The kids enjoyed going over there and seeing Grandma and Grandpa and playing with some of their MANY cousins!

Last, we took Drake over to his dad's house. They were excited to see Cade (Jimmy's little boy, Drake's half-brother) and we went Trick-or-Treating in their neighborhood for a little while so that the kids could get some "house to house" trick-or-treating in. We left there with some tired kids...and parents.

We walked to the McCrackin's to Trick-or-Treat and got some really cool Dracula teeth from Fulton. My boys were SO excited over that treat!

Halloween Parties at the Creative School

Today Cooper and Sophie had Halloween parties at the Creative School, where they go to preschool. They had so much fun. First the classrooms had a parade through the school in their costumes. Then, each class had parties with yummy snacks and fun games. It was a really fun day for them. Sophie was Tinkerbell and Cooper was Boba Fett from Star Wars.

Sophie got to join in on the fun at Cooper's class party. Cooper's class decorated cookies and had orange juice. He loved this snack. Then they sang Halloween songs.

There are eight 2 year olds in Sophie's class. 4 boys and 4 girls.


The 2 and 1/2 year old class played "Pass the Pumpkin" game (like Hot Potato). Each child won a pair off google eye glasses.

Frontyard Football

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. It was the perfect day for football in the frontyard with our neighbors. Chris, Lia, Ian, Cooper, Mark and sometimes Sophie played a game of flag football. It was fun to watch them play. The kids and the dads really got into to it. Sophie sat on the sidelines with me most of the time, but sometimes, she tried to get in on the action.

Hot Air Balloon

Tonight at Papa's airplane hanger, they had one of the neighbors bring a hot air balloon out and take the kids for "rides". I had no intention of letting any of my kids ride, but once I saw that they had the balloon tethered to 4 different trucks, I felt like it was okay for Drake to take a ride in the balloon. They only went about 50 feet off of the ground. Nana ended up riding with Drake, even though she is not a fan of heights or flying! The things a Nana will do for her grandchild. Cooper and Sophie were just too little to ride. Drake thought it was "awesome" and a "little scary". Nana said it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. They both said that it didn't seem like you were even up in the air.

Potty Training

I have always heard that girls are easier to potty train than boys. It has definitely been true in the Dossett house. Sophie is doing GREAT with her potty training. It has not been nearly as difficult to accomplish with her as it was with her two big brothers!!! She is 2 1/2 and her brothers were around 4 years old when all aspects of potty training were accomplished successfully. She loves wearing big girl panties and even likes to clean up her little potty seat herself!!
