Snake Eggs

Tonight, while playing out in our backyard, Drake found something on the ground and asked "What is this?". Our neighbor said it was a SNAKE egg. The boys were so excited!! Against Drake's approval, we decided we wanted to cut the egg open and see what was inside...was there really a snake? Our neighbor Chris, an ER doctor, was given the the delicate surgery. With all the kids huddled around, he carefully cut it open. It was definitely an egg and it had a snake embryo inside...it was REALLY gross! Mark decided he wanted to see if any more eggs were buried underneath the ground. He began digging and they found a total of 30 eggs!! Then our neighbor Brian Bowen found the skin that had been shed by what we think was the mother snake. They suspect it was a black snake. The boys took some eggs home in a box and covered it with dirt...hoping they hatch...I hope they don't!!!
